Who we are
Kindness Studios operates this website and the Kindness Shop. This policy covers information we collect through this site, including when you browse, sign up for email, or place an order.

Information we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order or contact us, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, phone number if you provide one, and the contents of your order.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we and our analytics providers collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, how long you stayed, and the site you arrived from.
Information from payment processors. Stripe and PayPal confirm to us that a payment succeeded and send us the last four digits of the card and its type. We never receive or store your full card number.
How we use it

Analytics and advertising
Squarespace Analytics. Our website platform provides built-in traffic reporting.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google processes this data on our behalf and may combine it with other data it holds. You can prevent this using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Meta Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel to measure and target advertising on Facebook and Instagram. This sends information about your visit — including pages viewed and purchases made — to Meta, which may match it to your Meta account.
Under California law, this kind of advertising counts as sharing your personal information, even though we are not paid for it. See Your privacy rights to opt out.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. When you pay, your card or account details go directly to them, not to us.
Each processor handles your payment data under its own privacy policy, and we recommend reading whichever one you use. Kindness Studios does not store complete card numbers on our servers at any point.
Email and marketing
If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email address to send updates and information about new releases. We do not sell or rent your email address.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Order-related emails — confirmations and shipping notices — are not marketing and are sent regardless, because you need them.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill the order and to meet tax and accounting requirements, which is generally seven years.
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to each provider’s own retention settings.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Access a copy of it
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete it, subject to records we must keep by law
- Opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To make a request, email support@kindnessstudios.com with the details. We will verify your identity before acting, and respond within the timeframe the law requires.
To stop advertising sharing immediately, you can also disable cookies in your browser or adjust your ad settings within Facebook and Instagram.
Security
Payments are encrypted in transit and handled by processors that meet payment industry security standards. Our website platform maintains the security of the site itself.
No method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Children’s privacy
Our shop is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email support@kindnessstudios.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
